Job vacancy: Operations Manager (Jakarta)
The Environmental Reporting Collective (ERC) is a growing network of journalists across the globe collaborating to investigate environmental crimes.
We are committed to supporting and collaborating with journalists in underreported regions such as Southeast Asia, Africa, and Latin America to expose the impact of environmental degradation on communities.
Our past projects include the award-winning Pangolin Reports and Oceans Inc, both of which involved journalists and newsrooms from multiple continents working together.
In line with the ERC’s growth, we are opening a position for an Operations Manager. It is a full-time, one-year contract position, with the possibility for renewal.
What you will be doing:
Ensure the ERC is operating effectively by monitoring project timelines and milestones, and ensuring assignment deadlines are met.
Schedule and manage regular meetings for ERC Core Team and our many partners across the world; and distribute meeting summaries and action points.
Assist in monitoring the ERC’s various digital media and communications platforms, e.g. our website, Slack, WhatsApp groups, and social media accounts.
Assist our fiscal sponsors, PT Info Media Digital, with finance and administration tasks such as billing/invoicing, bookkeeping, filing documentation, etc.
Monitor the ERC’s impact goals and objectives.
Assist the managing editor with other administrative and operations tasks from time to time.
Requirements:
Based in Jakarta, Indonesia; at least two years of experience as an Operations Manager (preferably in a media company); familiar with basic accounting processes; disciplined and transparent; concerned about the climate crisis.
